I was tasked to write a blog post to explain our nicknames. However, upon sitting down to write it, I've realised that there is actually very little explanation for them. Usually what happens is that Angela calls us a name in her head, and then one day she gets distracted and it slips out when she is actually talking to us, and then it sticks. So Valerie is Booberries, and I have the distinction of having two nicknames - Mandarin Oranges in the summer, and Amandabear in the winter. (Angela also calls her dog Kiwibear. I'm sure the fact that I have the same nickname as a dog is pure coincidence.) As payback, Valerie started to call Angela Smangela (because she smells?). She also answers to noon!. David has pretty much avoided the bestowal of a nickname so far, although sometimes when Rosa comes in my office, she looks at the picture of David that he pinned on my bulletin board and calls him "the silly one." Edit: Apparently he is also known to certain individuals as OTTO BOCK TRANSFORM.
Now that I've written all this out, I'm thinking that the things that happen in Angela's mind are kind of strange...
